Admin approval for group members on Workplace

If you're a group admin, you can choose to approve who joins your group.
Turn on membership approval
  1. From the group, click More below the group's cover photo.
  2. Click Admin tools.
  3. Click Compose next to Who can approve member requests and select Only admins and moderators.
  4. Click Save at the bottom.
If you're a group admin, you can also save time by automatically approving member requests from people who are already in your other groups.
Turn on automatic membership approval
  1. From the group, click More below the group's cover photo.
  2. Click Admin tools.
  3. Click Compose next to Who is added or removed automatically.
  4. Click Create.
  5. In the dialogue box, click +
  6. Select a feature from the dropdown menu to create membership rules based on that feature.
    • Members will be automatically added or removed based on their profile match with your rules.
  7. Click Save.
Note: You can remove groups from automatic membership approval by going to Who Is Preapproved to Join, clicking to uncheck the box next to the group's name and then clicking Save.
